How big is the pool and what's the water temperature?
Our pool has two 12’x20’ sections that come together to for an “L” shape. It is approximately 4′ deep.
The temperature is always set between 86°F and 90°F to ensure maximum comfort and inflammation relief.
Do you use chemicals, like chlorine, in the pool?
Absolutely not. Our pool uses a DE filter, ozone injector and ionizer to keep the water clean, fresh and safe. Furthermore, we ask that any dog using a topical flea and tick treatment wait at least two weeks after application to swim again, in order to maintain the hygiene of the water.
How often should I come?
That depends on your dog!
We will work with to determine a schedule that works for you, your dog and your budget.
Do you use life jackets?
Yes! We have them in many sizes to accommodate just about any breed.
What if my dog hates water?
While many dogs love the water, there are also some that aren’t so eager.
However, our swim specialists will work with you and your dog to help them overcome their fear. He/she will be given ample amount of time to adjust.
While we of course focus on your dog’s physical well-being, we also focus on his/her emotional well-being, carefully and calmly helping them acclimate.
After a few visits, they just may surprise you!
What does a typical swim session look like?
Each session is tailored specifically to that dog’s needs, comfort levels and health. Generally, the dogs who aren’t familiar with swimming are introduced gently and given as much time as needed to get acclimated. No matter what, a certified swim specialist will be in the pool with your dog, carefully guiding your pet. Life jackets are also utilized to provide the utmost safety.
While appointments are 45 minutes long, time in the water varies based on each dog (up to 30 minutes). Sessions often include a combination of specific movement exercises, massage, and energy work. Our swim specialists may also use a variety of toys for interaction.
For those dogs who may not be as active, there are resting and floating techniques our specialists use to provide even more comfort.
No matter if your dog loves water or is a bit hesitant, we focus on making it as fun as possible for him/her.
Why should I bring my dog to SandDancer?

Can I go into the pool with my dog?
Unfortunately, due to safety reasons, we do not allow anyone in the pool except our certified swim specialists.
Is a veterinarian's referral needed?
For the safety of your pet, we ask that all dogs have a vet’s referral before your first appointment with SandDancer.

Can I watch my dog's session?
Absolutely! We actually require that you stay while your dog swims, in order to provide your pet with the ease of knowing his/her person is close by. The spa-like design of our facility is meant to help both you and your dog relax and enjoy your time at SandDancer.
How long does a session last?
We allocate 45 minutes for each swim session; however you dog’s time in the water will depend on his/her health and goals.
Does my dog have to be vaccinated in order to swim?
While your dog will not come in contact with any other dogs during the session, we require all dogs to either have a rabies vaccination or a titer level showing immunity.
What should I expect after a swim session?
Your dog may be a bit spunkier immediately after each swim — and will probably need to relieve him/herself right away, too!
You can certainly expect your dog to take a nice, long snooze not too long after the session.
What do I need to do before a swim session?
Initially, you will need to have all paperwork completed.

It’s important that you remember what NOT to do before a swim session, too! We ask that you please refrain for feeding your dog for 3 hours before a session. Also, we ask that if you apply any topical flea and tick medications, leave two full weeks between application and the next swim as to not interfere with our pool’s cleanliness. Last, we ask that you let your pet relieve him/herself before entering the pool. We have a large yard right across from our entrance.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will need towels to dry your dog after every swim session. You’re also welcome to bring your pet’s favorite waterproof toy and any treats he/she prefers to be rewarded with.
